Today a friend and I visited Athelhampton House,
a 15th century manor house which is open to the public, near where we live
in Dorset (UK). It has featured on 'Most Haunted', a popular UK show
which conducts investigations in haunted places. They went to Athelhampton
last year and got some great orbs on video. It is claimed there are
several resident ghosts in the house. We
took about 30 pics each and got nothing unusual except for this one, which
has a weird gray streak down one side. At first we thought it was
a shaft of light but there are no windows in the room other than the
one you can see at the far end, and the streak is travelling downwards
anyway. No-one else was in the room at the time, smoking and flash
photography are not permitted in the house, there was no strap on the
camera and neither of us have long hair. The
picture was taken by Graham Tompkins with his digital Jenoptik z4100 camera.
I was using a Gauss Master at the same time and got no unusual readings on
it.
I would be interested to hear your views on
whether this might be anything paranormal or if it has a more mundane
explanation."
