Patrick writes, "I have had this picture for about 10 years. It was
taken in San Patricio, Texas' cemetery. We were snapping random
pictures of tombstones of people who had died of a certain era in
the San Patricio area for an Irish Texans project. None of the other
pictures came out bad in the roll of film in the Polaroid and none
of the other pictures came out w/ anything like the one on this
picture. We took it to a local photography shop that is pretty well
known in our city (Corpus Christi) and they could not understand
what happened. A negative was even made of the Polaroid, along with
enlargements. We also took pictures of the same head stone at the
same time of the day the next day and no strange shapes were found
on the film. The picture has not been altered at all. The
interesting thing about this photograph however is the story of the
woman buried beneath the headstone in the picture. My mother found
the name at the local library records and found that she had died of
child birth in the 1800s and was probably buried with her child. If
you tilt the picture, it almost looks as if arms are holding up a
baby from a laying person, or a hand is holding up a flower. It is
an interesting picture and even gave the professional photographers
the willies. ( I have a smaller-sized picture if its too big for the
website)."
