Believed to be a true ORB!
Jeanne writes, "This particular picture is from January 2003 at the little ones birthday get together. A friend is sitting right where a lot of activity takes place in the house. We think it may be portal, but of course we aren't sure. The thing is there was a lot going on in the house at the time, a lot of tension. We've noticed activity increases as tensions rise or something in my friends family (so far) is when things begin to take off in the house. Now this orb is really I think a good specimen and that is why I'd like to hear your opinion on it!"

This is what we believe to be a true orb shape

 Jim's Comments:

Jim talks frankly about orbs

From our studies and experiences we believe this type of orb to be true. Just so you know, dust and foreign particles up close to the lens can & will create the image of a false positive orb. These false anomalies will usually have a cell wall and a nucleus. Other false anomalies will be faded and usually appear with a multitude of orbs of various sizes. Digital cameras are notorious for creating false positive orbs/globules. If you have dozens of orbs in a single photo, it's considered dust. If the orbs have substance "guts" they are considered a defect within your camera. Different cameras can create their own unique orb substances. And a defective aperture if not closing tightly or correctly will also cause orb shapes to appear. Diamond shapes are also false positives. There are many things to consider when it comes to orb photography. But if nothing else, remember these guidelines, very few orbs are actually true. And above all else, there is no conclusive way to authenticate an orb photo. We do know that a true orb will look like the one featured on this page but we cannot even guarantee this to be a true orb. However, when considering an orb photo for authenticity check the following:

1. Should have the appearance of motion.
2. Round but not necessarily perfectly round.
3. Should NOT have a nucleus or cell wall.
4. If you are constantly getting orbs in your pics, it is dust.
5. If there are several orbs in the pic it is considered dust.
6. If the orbs are diamond shaped, it is a defective camera.
7. If the orbs are especially faded they cannot be considered.
